Update! edit

Sure, I'm an obsessed crazy Tom DeLonge fan, and an obsessed crazy Wikipedia fan. I would like to edit the Tom DeLonge page to include

-His new custom Epiphone guitar. -His involvement with ModLife. -Give mention to the fact that the majority of the guitars he plays live, mainly the white with black racing stripes, black with black matte racing stripes, and natural wood with black racing stripes are all made by Gibson but they feature an "AVA" headstock logo. -His exclusive usage amp since (roughly) 2000, Mesa Boogies.

Gear edit

I (IShootNewbs), compiled the gear section mostly. I used photos and vids as sources. If there are any problems, feel free to reach me on MSN messenger. my handle on msn is, "anarchypbnj@yahoo.com"

This article used to acctually show the Gear that Tom used live, not just info that anyone could find just about anywhere regarding Tom's signature guitars.

Name Continuity edit

Did anybody else notice that in some places it says "DeLonge" and other places it says "Delonge"? It's DeLonge, without question. http://www.blink182.com/about/features.asp?AssetID=1073763&artistid=4 This is a biography on blink's site from Geffen. ? edit

im not exactly sure where this would go.. but in an interview with larry king, tom delonge said that he wasn't able to be a "certain type of father and husband" in the current situation that he was in with blink 182. heres the link to the video for reference: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h60DfTOZHvE —The preceding unsigned comment was added by DANIZZLE (talkcontribs) 23:16:07, August 18, 2007 (UTC).

In The intro it says that Tom plays in AVA with a former member of the Distillers when in reality it should say 30 Seconds To Mars seeing as how Matt Wachter replaced Ryan Sinn in early 2007. Also Atom Willard never recorded with The Offspring, he only toured with them from 2003-2007 so the intro should not state that he was a former member of the Offspring, but instead it should say that he was a former member of Rocket From The Crypt. I say this because this is how Tom references him as well. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Luck was13 (talkcontribs) 18:08, 26 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Equipment section is too detailed edit

Hey guys I think the section about the equipment Tom uses is way too detailed for an encyclopedia. This is supposed to be general information about Tom, and the number of people who are interested in knowing every guitar, amplifier, and pickup Tom has ever used is probably very small. I am not deleting anything yet, I am just curious to see if anyone agrees with me. Basilisk4u (talk) 07:49, 22 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

A year later, I agree. But if someone deletes something, someone else just comes back and adds it. And so the only way to make sure it stays quality is to keep coming back to it. And who wants to spend their life continually re-editing equipment data? There are things that just aren't worth the battles. Wickedjacob (talk) 12:44, 15 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

In the first paragraph:

"...was the guitarist, co-lead vocalist and co-founder of the American rock band Blink-182 from 1992 to 2015." The past tense ("was") is wrong because it's saying DeLonge is no longer the band's co-founder, which makes no sense. It needs to be, "...was the guitarist and co-lead vocalist of the American rock band Blink-182, which he co-founded in 1992, until 2015" or "...was the guitarist and co-lead vocalist of the American rock band Blink-182, which he co-founded, from 1992 to 2015." 2602:306:BC31:4AA0:480B:1D12:4102:2962 (talk) 22:12, 6 August 2017 (UTC)Reply

Why is there no page for To The Stars? edit

Does anyone following DeLonge and To The Stars know why there is no wikipedia page for To the Stars Academy of Arts and Sciences? There are numerous reputable news sources about it - see Christopher_Mellon and related sources eg [1] and others easily searchable on the net.

Sorry if this is not the right forum to discuss a new page - I'm a bit of a noob wiki editor if someone can suggest the right place to discuss this I'd appreciate it. I just figured people following Tom DeLonge would be help and have input to this.

I believe this is a distinct Talk item from the above item about adding a To The Stars section to Tom's page since that was done as it should have been and that topic is closed.

Any thoughts @Parzival191919: or @Page Notes: ??

Interesting idea, @Cheesy poof: In an effort to see what more could be said, I took a look at the webpage for the Academy but couldn't see what progress they were making, so I suggested to them that they add a menu item about their accomplishments, including works in progress. I mentioned this discussion as the motive for the suggestion and look forward to their response. Page Notes (talk) 18:44, 4 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

The IMDb is user-generated content and can not be used as a source for information in a biography of a living person. If you want to include this information, it must be cited to a reliable source, such as a reputable newspaper. Please see WP:RSP for a rough guide to consensus on individual sources. I'm not really sure I like the idea of sources being blanket labeled as "reliable" or "unreliable", but it does link to discussions at the reliable sources noticeboard where sources have been discussed. His former spouse has not publicly changed her name anywhere I've seen. Shouldn't Wikipedia identify her by the name she's actually using rather than by a maiden name she is not? I agree. It seems weird to refer to her by a name she is not currently using on her own social media (Instagram), especially when her own Wiki article (Jennifer Jenkins DeLonge) does not refer to her as that. Blink 182 "Dismissal" edit

The opening paragraph ends with "...1992 until his dismissal from the group in 2015".

Tom was never dismissed from Blink 182. He left after a dispute with the other members about the direction of the band. This was clearly stated by Tom on social media in 2015 and confirmed multiple times by Mark in an interview with Rolling Stone. Grammatically - the use of the term "dismissed" implies some kind of formality that was not present. Culturally - saying he was dismissed diminishes both his role in the band's creation and the behaviour of the other 2 members during the very public and messy 2015 breakup. This paragraph should instead say something neutral like "...1992 until 2015 when he left the band." [1] [2] 49.178.33.63 (talk) 11:39, 9 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Semi-protected edit request on 9 February 2022 edit

change " until his dismissal from the group in 2015 " to "until his separation from the group in 2015" .

Reason: dismissal seems like a one sided decision of remaining members to "dismiss" a member.

Reference: This same article later uses the following phrase: "parted ways".

The following news article from rolling stone quotes Mark Hoppus as stating that the separation was not just a dismissal but rather a request from Tom's side accepted by the rest of the band. Specifically the interview question "There seems to be a disconnect between your statement saying Tom left the band and Tom saying that he didn’t quit. Who’s right?" is of interest.
