Line breaks edit

I'm not sure about the double spacing & line breaks introduced today; they effectively double the size of the list, make it far less logical, and difficult to follow. Also, if the list is to expand, the side notes should have as small a footprint as is possible. - Coil00 21:49, 18 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Good point. It doesn't look quite right to me. Deb 22:10, 18 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Wow!!! 4 hours for Nothing No thanks!!!! You break it you buy it. I will work elsewhere. This is meaningless to me with everything in a hodge podge of a mess. Artsojourner 09:18, 20 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Prehistory edit

While stub-sorting I've found various articles like 80,000 BC in art which need some attention - not a "year" article, doesn't say what period it purports to cover, etc. It's not clear what hierarchy of articles there ought to be for the early periods of art. These are linked in the page List_of_years_in_art and in the category Category:Years in art, and Table_of_years_in_art#Other_years_in_art is a bit vague about them. Someone more expert in art history, or in the handling of "years" in WP, might like to tidy them up! I'll post this message at a couple of other relevant pages in the hope of finding an appropriate enthusiast to take them on. PamD (talk) 07:38, 24 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

"on art" ? if it is a timeline of art then why is this phrase necessary ? edit

Seems like a lot of nothingness.66.74.176.59 (talk) 21:40, 18 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

List diversity for "(date) in art" edit

I noticed these lists appear to only focus on "Western Art" (ie. European and United States) and not really any focus on the rest of the world. Can someone work on correcting this? It's a huge undertaking. Jooojay (talk) 04:50, 23 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

Death rate edit

Particularly beginning in the 2020s the amount of artist deaths included in this list makes the timeline way less functional. I don't see the value in including every name here, but making editorial choices about which to highlight does seem complicated. Thoughts? Thigh twombly (talk) 13:00, 19 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
