Afghanistan edit

Created a separate section for this, as the mission is NOT peacekeeping.Mikedelsol 10:15, 16 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Actually you will note that the section was NOT titled "Peacekeeping", there was no "Peacekeeping" section.

2nd Bn, The RCR edit

The 2nd Battalion of The RCR has, over the years, been under the command of 2 CMBG and of 5 GBMC. Currently (2006-07) it is an independent battalion under Land Force Atlantic Area Headquarters (LFAA HQ). Sources:

 • 1 2CMBG page listing units does not include 2RCR
 • 2 LFAA page listing units includes 2RCR
 • 3 Army page listing 2CMBG units does not include 2RCR
 • 4 Army page listing LFAA units does include 2RCR
 • 5 LFC Guide shows 2RCR as an independent unit under LFAA

Canadian Forces Organization Order - 1848 – Unclassified - 4 Nov 2002 – “In accordance with Ministerial Organization Order 93323, the Minister of National Defence has authorized the organization of 2 RCR, Dept ID 1848, as a unit of the Canadian Forces, embodied in the Regular Force, and allocated to Land Force Atlantic Area (LFAA)”

If 2RCR is to be listed as under command of 2CMBG, current references will be required. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 74.112.164.244 (talk) 15:36, 18 February 2007 (UTC).Reply

Hi! edit

Sorry if I just came out of no where, but I just want to help a little. First of all, when you're writing an article, on the discussion page, you add if it has anything to do with history, Canada, or World war I. P.S. you can change the yes or no when you like. Just put y for yes and n for no. Hope I helped a little! (Mrjeremister (talk) 20:22, 29 June 2009 (UTC))Reply

Nicknames for RCR edit

This is actually a complaint about the nicknames listed for the RCR on the main wikipedia page.

The references, especially the vulgar one, to chickens is uncalled for. Does Wikipedia tolerate foul nicknames for various nationalities or ethnic grops?

I'm a former armour officer (Royal Canadian Dragoons) who worked in the field with the RCR in Canada for a number of years in the late 80s. The nicknames listed are disrespectful to the regiment, and, most importantly, its dead and wounded.

Someone should please remove this. I am a new member and don't feel I have the esperience or the right to edit other people's comments, but whoever put those neicknames in there was not only mean spirited, but very ignorant as well. No one with any time in the Canadian Army would not recognize "Royals" as a nickname.

Someone please remove this,

Regimental Slogan edit

Regimental Slogan "Never Pass a Fault" should be added (under the motto?) on the sidebar to the right

thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.244.77.44 (talk) 13:09, 5 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

I am not sure "slogan" is the right term for it, but it should be there.Ab.chaplin (talk) 20:36, 17 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

I found that User:Footwiks keeps editing "Kowangsan Day" as holiday of this Regiment, but I think this is quite controversial to put whether this is actually right to put holiday which is not verified with any resources, so I want to hear other people's opinion.
