Talk:Straddle technique

America-centric edit

While it’s true that many - in fact, probably most - developments in high jumping came from the United States, anyone outside the US runs into the age-old problem of imperial measurements, which have never been ratified as world records and are useless to non-Americans. Also the claim that an American re-introduced the straddle in veteran competition totally ignores the almost unbroken career of Thomas Zacharias, who has held multiple world age records in veteran competition using the straddle technique exclusively. There was no reintroduction because it never completely disappeared. Flanker235 (talk) 16:07, 22 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
