A fact from Storage of wine appeared on Wikipedia's Main Page in the Did you know? column on 20 May 2009 _{(check views)}. The text of the entry was as follows: "Did you know

... that while most wines can benefit from being stored on their side, Champagne and other sparkling wines tend to age better if they are kept upright?"

Inconsistent temperature recommendations in article

In the "Temperature and other factors" section, 50-59F is recommended and 52F is mentioned as a possible ideal both with solid sources. Then in the "Places to store wine" section, it says, "Wine should never be stored in temperatures that are too cold (under 12 °C/53.6 °F) as this will inhibit the development of the wine." This has no sources. This needs to be changed to 50F or lower but then again I don't know that we have the data to reference a specific number that would be appropriate for the wording "never" or "too cold". I think we should remove the numbers from this section firstly because they are wrong, and secondly because there is an entire section devoted to temperature already. Overall though, an awesome article for such a specialized subject! Great work everyone!
