This corroborates an allusion made by Michael Tsarion in 2012 - The Future of Mankind at Google Videos. Some source should be provided for this before it can be mentioned in the article, though. __meco 11:19, 31 August 2007 (UTC)

It was also my understanding that it represented elite bloodline. Like the term, red tape. Although there may not be any evidence for this for the time being that Wikipedia may accept. Neurolanis (talk) 23:05, 24 November 2008 (UTC)

Traceable to Agamemnon?

The allusion to Agamemnon is fascinating, but surely in that play the "crimson path" is a hidden reference to the fact that the king is about to be welcomed in to a bloodbath at the hands of his wife - not exactly a good precedent for diplomatic hospitality!
