Woodward opinion edit

I dont feel Woodward's personal opinions about these Providence skyscrapers belongs in such short posts. Downcity 20:23, 23 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Ok, so it's opinion, but it is cited from an expert, and I think it adds to the article.--Loodog 17:08, 24 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
Why is his opinion only valid for these 3 towers and not for the other major Providence buildings? Downcity 19:22, 24 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Lights on building edit

The main lights on the building are orange (sodium vapor, presumably), and apparently there is a second set that are alternating red and green--thus, for Christmas they light up the red and green ones, for Valentines Day, red, and for St. Patrick's Green. There is no ability to light up red white and blue for Independence Day.... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.9.50.89 (talkcontribs) 19:17, 2 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

I believe the lights are actually colored using some kind of fixed system of theater gels (or similar) that move into position over the lights, though I've never been able figure this out for sure, and have never been compelled to find the right people to ask. I've noticed that over time, a few of the red lights appear more orange. From close enough, it almost looks like the colored material is deteriorated or partially missing. The lights are colored in pairs (presumably so they are visible from a distance as distinct adjacent colors). The same pairs are always red and green respectively, when lit together or separately. I can't imagine any other "good" color resulting from the high orange tint. Red and green are probably the best color alternatives that will work. I thought I recalled something about the lights being retrofitted with color-changing LEDs sometime in the near future, but I can't verify that anywhere. Oh, and the lights stay on past midnight--I think until 1 or 2--longer than the Bank of American building. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.9.50.89 (talkcontribs) 19:18, 2 April 2009 (UTC)Reply
