Norway's prison system edit

Over the past few years, a lot of media attention has surrounded on how Norwegian prisons focus so heavily on rehabilitation over punishment, and how their really great treatment of prisoners seems to be why they have the lowest rate of recidivism in at least Europe, possibly in the world. It's very disappointing that their fascinating and rather radical methods aren't covered in this article, or perhaps in a more appropriate article that's linked to from here as a "See also". For some sources:

The Norwegian prison where inmates are treated like people (The Guardian)

Why Norway's prison system is so successful (Business Insider), website seems to be down right now so here's a Google cached version

Crime and punishment, Norwegian style (BBC News)

Norwegian v American justice: Plush and unusual punishment (The Economist)

The Radical Humaneness of Norway’s Halden Prison (The New York Times)

And those were just sources from the first page of Google results for "norway prison punishment vs rehabilitation". Surely it can't be that hard to add info about what is truly the most noteworthy, and interesting aspect of the Norwegian prison system? Xmoogle (talk) 12:09, 13 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

majority of sources above now gone 404 but one gave me the name - & that took me back here! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Halden_Prison but still no link from this main article. needs attention from a proper editor - which i'm not, yet86.159.122.236 (talk) 22:07, 4 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
