I'm not the right person to judge this article, because I'm MSP myself, but I don't think that sentences like "It's a once in a lifetime opportunity to develop real-world skills to help you succeed in your future career, to help others learn about the technology of today and tomorrow, and to connect with other like-minded students, all while having a ton of fun along the way." represent neutral point ov view and are valuable addition to encyclopedia. 88.109.146.117 20:05, 20 April 2007 (UTC) Tomas PetricekReply

Excuse me for my english ;)
I'm a MSP too,I come from France and this programme it's a really opportunity for up my level in technology Microsoft for my :job.
But MSP is a community of students too, and we share some informations on differents event (for exemple on techdev in Paris)
Microsoft is very present on this community and he's help us ;) (for exemple Segolene Hemar for the France)
Freddy HEBRARD

I didn't say I disagree with this statement and that's why I didn't want to modify the page - aside from the fact that it would be "writing about myself" which isn't good thing to do here... Being MSP gave me a lot and I'm glad to be part of this community. I'm also sure that it is a unique opportunity for students interested in MS technologies. I just don't think that the diction of this article follows good encyclopedia guidelines. Compare it for example with article about Microsoft Most Valuable Professional program, which I think is quite objective and "encyclopedic". 88.109.146.117 21:04, 20 April 2007 (UTC) Tomas PetricekReply

I agree. Changed to provide more factual information

Inaccurate at best edit

Early versions of this page denounced as sounding too much like an advertisement were at least accurate, seeing as they were pulled directly from communications with those that run the program. While Wikipedia isn't a place for copy and paste, at least it was accurate. In particular, the benefits section directly contradicts the facts. No financial incentive? That simply isn't true.

I am a MSP, and there are no financial incentives. Besides that, I would like to suggest removal of the worldwide MSP list. There are over 500 MSP all over the world. There is no point in making a list to be displayed on the wiki page. Its like displaying a list of all the employees of a company. Just silly. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 59.93.130.233 (talk) 16:14, 15 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
Agree with this one. Archantes (talk) 05:45, 17 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Wikification edit

I started wikifying the article and added also relevant tags for content revision.

I also created a template for corporate programs such as MSP and MSDNAA. The template is also under construction for now.

Content Revision edit

Facts edit

"Student Partners are employees of Volt Services Group and as such are paid and employed by Volt." AFAIK this is not true. Where did this come from and what does it actually mean? - Archantes (talk) 12:06, 1 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Removed this one. - Archantes (talk) 17:37, 11 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Contents edit

We might want to structure the article in more general manner, e.g., as follows: History, Purpose, Membership, Activities, ... - Archantes (talk) 12:06, 1 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Done, major rewrite completed to first draft. Some sections still need more content. I am planning to expand the Activities section at some point. I could use some help with the History section though. - Archantes (talk) 17:38, 11 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
Added some examples of past technical seminars. - Archantes (talk) 20:10, 23 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

History section could perhaps use a list of major events that MSPs have participated, e.g., Imagine Cup - Archantes (talk) 09:01, 12 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Activities section should, in my opinion, only include general activities, no unnecessary details or specific places some group has visited and - I think - there's no need to mention that one stayed in a hotel between the nights. - Archantes (talk) 21:22, 19 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Modified the content to appear in a more encyclopedic tone. - Archantes (talk) 20:10, 23 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Names of MSPs edit

I strongly disagree on listing the names of MSPs in the article. Is this really relevant, and how? - Archantes (talk) 21:49, 16 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Clearly, this kind of list of arbitrary names is not intended to be in Wikipedia, so I think the burden of justification is on the side of those wishing to include these names in the article. (You do realize that there are almost 1500 of them?) Frankly, that makes no sense to me. And, also, for the sake of the discussion, please state your arguments, instead of deleting mine. - Archantes (talk) 23:27, 14 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
I must agree. The list is completely unsourced and incomplete. What's more, it doesn't fit in with the notability policy that you quoted above. I have removed the list to which you refer. ~a (usertalkcontribs) 20:32, 17 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
And apparently it was added again. Now, it seems that someone wants to keep the list of the names in the article, despite the fact that it does not belong there. I do not know how many there are in favor of inclusion, since they do not state their opinion on this talk page, and just keep removing comments on the subject. This has gone on for some time now, and other measures might have to be taken to resolve this, if discussion is not possible. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Archantes (talkcontribs) 07:02, 18 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
I've added a request to requests for page protection. This has gone on long enough. ~a (usertalkcontribs) 15:28, 9 March 2009 (UTC)Reply
  Done for a week. - Rjd0060 (talk) 15:43, 9 March 2009 (UTC)Reply
I have requested a longer protection. ~a (usertalkcontribs) 19:16, 20 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

WikiProject edit

Is WikiProject Computing right category for this article? It does not seem to fit very well into its definition of Scope and Goals - Archantes (talk) 09:27, 12 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
