I think we shouldn't call it "emo metal", besides, it's unsourced anyways. It also will confuse it with emo.Stgw (talk) 22:42, 9 April 2013 (UTC)

Deletion?

This page needs to be deleted. There is already a Metalcore page and there is no need to make un-needed pages for variances of a genre over time. It may be cited, but there is no need to confuse Wikipedia readers with another Metalcore genre.

Nu metal and alternative metal have separate pages, same with thrash metal and speed metal, since there is enough of a noticeable difference in sound/characteristics to warrant separate pages. Listen to Hatebreed or Converge then tell me they sound similar to 36 Crazyfists or Avenged Sevenfold. I call the big one bitey 22:19, 15 April 2013 (UTC) Then if what you say is true, every sub-genre needs to have pages for just minor changes in sound. There is tons of genres that change over time but they are still in the same genre as who was before them. This is not a valid genre and I've checked many sites and usually the ones that say this is "Melodic Metalcore" usually mean the song has elements of more melody then other Metalcore bands. If anything make a page for those bands that call themselves "Metallic Hardcore" and get rid of their section in Metalcore and leave the bands who call themselves "Melodic Metalcore" as Metalcore as that is the correct listing for those bands. I mean there is even bands that are listed as Melodic Death Metal and are in every sense that may have simple breakdowns in there, should you create a page listing it as Melodic Deathmetalcore? No, because they are still Melodic Death Metal, they just borrow elements from other genres. I suggest listing tons of sources, and Urban Dictionary doesn't count as a source. I'm a huge advocate for corrections especially with one of my favorite genre's, and I know for a fact no one in the scene is listing themselves as Melodic Metalcore. Since there's no harm in it being here, it stays. If you can make a legitimate point for why it should not be here, then we can discuss it being removed. And no, your opinion that they sound like regular metalcore bands is not a good point of contention. Shepherd of Fire (talk) 04:13, 3 October 2013 (UTC)
