Article needs a description edit

This article needs a description of what counts as a "lost invention". Also, if it's merely a list, shouldn't the article title be "List of lost inventions"? Regards, DesertPipeline (talk) 07:49, 18 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

Agreed. It wouldn't be so bad if lost invention was not a redirect right back here, leaving the reader none the wiser as to what the subject actually is. As it stands the article looks like an indiscriminate list and it is not clear that all the things listed share anything in common. I'm not sure it would survive an AfD. Also, it is not clear what makes some entries "questionable" and some not. We need to define that too.
A "lost invention" must mean more than just "a thing they don't make anymore" for this to be a valid subject. If we can pin it down as "a genuine invention for which the manufacturing process has been lost and not recovered" then we can remove the entries that do not fit that and be left with a valid article. --DanielRigal (talk) 20:34, 21 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
I have edited the article recently, and would like to know whether you think the concerns have been addressed. Dege31 (talk) 13:15, 29 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

Wardenclyffe Tower edit

Would wireless power transmission through Tesla's Wardenclyffe Tower count as a lost invention? Ninjatacoshell (talk) 04:11, 3 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

Lunar landing edit

I don't really see this, even as a misconception. Do people honestly believe we've forgotten how we got to the moon, rather than we don't currently have any vehicles capable of the feat? I can't find a source that states people feel it's a forgotten technology of the ancients. Bkatcher (talk) 20:05, 21 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

I'm not sure whether there is a source that talks about it, but you can find similar claims if you search, although it's often associated with conspiracy theorists. Dege31 (talk) 12:56, 23 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
