A rewrite/reformat edit

I added a more complete description, some links, etc. and modeled this ship write up after that of L' Amitie which has developed a bit over time. There are a few necessary changes. I could not, for instance, verify how many masts Le Bon Papa had, even though I'm confident three is correct (like L' Amitie) I'll not put that in the article until I have some proof. There also appears to be a bit of disagreement regarding the total number of passengers. At least one scholar seems to have counted all passengers on the ship's most famous voyage, not just Acadians. I noted only the number for Acadian families/totals since that information seems to most relevant for the article, and is the most easily verified given the links to the passenger manifest. In any case, it would be nice to get all seven ships written up in a like format for the sake of completeness.... As time permits, I guess. -- Geeman 16:26, 7 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Why eviction? edit

The Acadiens were previously evicted from Acadia, and were refugees living in, among other places, Nantes, France. This ship assisted in their voluntary relocation to Louisiana, not their involuntary eviction from Acadia. I changed the word 'eviction.' RPellessier | Talk 05:24, 8 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

That sounds good. Another article uses the term "exodus" to describe the whole process, which seems apt to me--though other folks might be touchy about the obvious Biblical reference. At the very least, though, "relocation" is more apt to describe the aspect of the exodus (or relocation, or migration, or whatever one wants to call it) that Le Bon Papa took part in. --Geeman 05:46, 8 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
