That whole rambling section (three paragraphs!) detailing Sondheim's alleged feelings about criticism -- what is it doing here? I came onto this talk page to say the same thing. I'm glad I read that Sondheim part--it's fascinating how that echo chamber thinks, but it has zero to do with Brown. Three years after your comment and having no dispute, I'm going to delete it.--Mrcolj (talk) 21:17, 15 April 2016 (UTC)

I realize this is an old thread, but his previous marriage to Theresa O'Neill is cited in many reviews of his play ''The Last Five Years'' (some reviews of the film adaptation mention it as well). Allegedly, part of their divorce agreement included a clause that he couldn't use her likeness in his work, found that The Last Five Years violated this agreement, and eventually signed off on the changes he made to differentiate her from the character Cathy. I'm adding "allegedly" because the articles mentioning it put it in such an off-handed way, and I did not find one that interviewed O'Neill. Some sources (of mixed quality) related to the play and the possible lawsuit follow:
