This seems like an obvious statement of opinion, and the end of that second sentence doesn't even make any sense.

It is the general tone of the 1911 Britannica, a anglo-protestant classicist diatribe against catholic baroque in general. Ruskin still ruled.CARAVAGGISTI 16:20, 14 December 2006 (UTC)

waterscilder

Is waterscilder really the title or just a misspelling which got repeated. Google gives just 4 results for "waterscilder" all connected to jordaens. And it appears to have originated from a french document possibly misspelling the dutch word nl:schilderen. The problem of french speakers with the "schi" sound is well documented, for example with schild en vriend a well known Shibboleth. there are several sources that list it as "waterschilder" for example [1] Pinfix (talk) 10:40, 21 May 2013 (UTC)

Goethe ?

How Jordaens could have adapted the story of «Night Vision» from a more contemporary version such as Goethe's ballad "Die Braut von Korinth" since Goethe was born 100 years after Jordaens’ death ? -- Ignoto (talk) 16:33, 22 March 2016 (UTC)

Candaules

I added another painting. I saw the image of Jordaens "Candaules" painting on another page. I came here to find out more, but there was nothing, so I added it.
