Election allegedly postponed? edit

From the Wikipedia article on Patrick J. Reynolds, Fine Gael TD for Roscommon 1961-69 and for Roscommon-Leitrim 1973-77:

"Reynolds was born in Killellan, County Leitrim in 1920. His father Patrick Reynolds was elected as a Cumann na nGaedheal Teachta Dála (TD) for Leitrim–Sligo at the September 1927 general election, but was fatally shot during the 1932 general election campaign. The election was postponed, and his mother Mary won the seat, serving the Dáil for 29 years.[2]"

Assuming the writer or the source is not mistaken, I'm a little surprised to see no mention of the postponement in this article. Would those with specialist knowledge care to comment? Harfarhs (talk) 22:46, 9 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

According to info in Patrick Reynolds (Cumann na nGaedheal), the election in Leitrim–Sligo was postponed, not the whole nation wide general election. Snappy (talk) 15:53, 10 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
True, but I think it would be worthwhile someone telling the story (briefly) in this article too. Even a delay of some weeks in one constituency is an exceptional occurrence, and would affect such matters as how many TDs attend the commencement of the new Dáil. Feel free to add this information. Snappy (talk) 19:51, 10 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

Revolutionary Workers' Groups edit

The article says that the above party stood and got 1,087 votes. Revolutionary Workers' Groups says that their candidates were James Larkin Jnr and Joseph Troy. The former's article says that he stood in Dublin South as an Independent. Dublin_South_(Dáil_Éireann_constituency)#1932_general_election says the same, and records him as receiving 917 votes. Dublin_North_(Dáil_Éireann_constituency)#1932_general_election says that Troy stood as an Independent and received 170 votes. 917 + 170 = 1087. The RWG article also says that "The RWG was officially banned by the Cosgrave government in 1931". Elections Ireland - Dublin South and Elections Ireland - Dublin North both show them as Independents. I propose to delete the reference to RWG on this page and increase the number of votes for Independents by 1087. Does anyone have access to Nohlen, D & Stöver, P (2010) Elections in Europe: A data handbook, pp1009-1017 ISBN 978-3-8329-5609-7? Alekksandr (talk) 22:29, 10 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
