disambiguation edit

The word Imamah literally means "leadership" and is not only referring to Shi'a doctrine, regardless of what the Imamah article says (it's a mess right now).

Imamate refers to the position of leadership following Muhammad, specific to the Shi'a.

Ibadi Imamate edit

Is it worth mentioning the concept of the Imamate in Ibadi thought there? Historically there was an Ibadi Imamate in Oman and the Rustamids were an Imamate too. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.33.172.234 (talk) 23:44, 16 September 2017 (UTC)Reply
