Update through translation

I updated this by translating the current version of this article in Spanish and rearranging it slightly. Most of this content I've added is total junk and doesn't really say much, but I figured this could be a small step toward something more substantive. --Brian Z 05:36, 26 March 2007 (UTC)

"Horizontal" governance/control/organization versus "Vertical"

Interesting how basically the same idea when contra-posed into federalism, ala, pillarization or 'vertical federalism' is essentially the same kind of power-sharing conception; but in a different orientation (up-down = vertical / side-to-side = horizontal). (because it is bifurcated/federated rights stacked over one jurisdiction rather than spread out over geographic distance "horizontally"... yet here they mean hierarchy is the vertical aspect in opposition to' capitated rights'; but that is something which federalism already by itself in name implies; thus they can implant another aspect to its systematization for being horizontal or vertical.). Origin

As a specific term, horizontalidad is attributed to the radical movements that sprouted in Argentina after the economic crisis of 2001

This might have been when the term was made popular globally, but it's not the origin. You can easily find (in Google Books, for example) books talking about horizontalidad in the 90's, and some references even back to 70's. --158.42.239.200 (talk) 08:15, 18 January 2010 (UTC)
