I have removed this weaselly unsourced claim stating that opponents of the teaching of Breton have classified all Breton speakers as Nazis, as well as the "rebuttal" starting with "Meanwhile they do not seem to consider".

Other strong opposition comes from French right and left nationalists who argue that as some Breton speakers collaborated with German occupying forces during the Second World War, all Breton language supporters should be considered as Nazis today, and therefore nothing should be done to help the breton language in the XXIst century.

Meanwhile they do not seem to consider that most active persons in collaboration were not breton, but French, which no reason to attack neither culture.

I have removed even more claims because they attribute intent to the French government without proof:

Since French government did not really want to help the language to survive, initiative had to come from the Bretons themselves.

Since their creation Diwan schools have to face opposition from French authorities who make it as difficult as they can to open new schools.

Intent is easy to prove when it comes to french assimilationism, but I'm sure a lot of the sources (including prominent sociologists like Bourdieu) would be whined about in some way. 173.176.137.97 (talk) 03:53, 7 February 2015 (UTC)Reply
