Major events

Pearl Harbor 1941 was a major event. It should be mentioned in the intro. For September 11, the 2001 event is mentioned and rightly so. I can assure you that December 7 and entry of the allies into the war against Japan had greater significance for the American and Japanese people than September 11 had for the American people - or don't you think so?. Pacific Southwest Airlines Flight 1771

I wanted to change "...then shoots both pilots and himself." to "shoots both pilots and steers the plane into the ground." The reason is that I believe the article never says that the attacker shoots himself. Instead it says that evidence indicates that he was alive until the crash and deliberately steered the plane into the ground. Here are some quotes from the article: "There was speculation that Burke shot himself, though this seems unlikely, because a fragment of Burke's fingertip was lodged in the trigger when the investigators found the revolver. This indicated that he was alive and he was holding the gun until the moment of impact." and "The remains of the flight data recorder (FDR) indicated Burke had pushed the control column forward into a dive." @1997kB: has reverted my change with the comment "It's clearly written he shoots himself". I have just re-read the article and did not find any mention of of the attacker shooting himself. What am I missing? Is it in one of the cited sources? Spike (talk) 16:28, 7 December 2017 (UTC)

He's been added to the list of those who died on this day with a citation referencing a BBC report, but the main article gives his date of death as 6 December, citing a report in The Guardian. JezGrove (talk) 12:36, 7 December 2023 (UTC)
