Note about Bauer's essay edit

On p. 443 of his essay, T. H. Barrett wrote that Bauer had implied on p. 24 that, in Barrett's words "Bishop Percy's 'translation' of the Haoqiu zhuan was a direct rendering of the Chinese text in the same fashion as the later John Davis version" but Barrett said that in reality the bishop had used an earlier manuscript translation that was partially in Portuguese. Note about Motsch's essay edit

Monika Motsch, author of the essay "Slow Poison or Magic Carpet: The Du Fu Translations by Erwin Ritter von Zach" wrote that Erwin von Zach "produced the first and up to now only complete translation of Du Fu's poems". (book page 101). Joshua A. Fogel, author of a book review of Translations from Chinese into European Languages for The Journal of Asian Studies, wrote that "she must mean into a European language." (Fogel p. 160) WhisperToMe (talk) 19:54, 8 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

List of essays online edit

The contents of the entire book are freely available online on OpenEdition Books (FR). Since they are still copyrighted you can use webcitation.org to archive them, but the copyright owner has the right to hide the content except to researchers and archivists. AFAIK it means you can't use archive.is. The essays are posted as citations (for opposite language titles, meaning French titles for English essays and English titles for French essays)
