With the exception of the link to freeze drying, this article at this moment is a quite literal translation of es:chuño. It could use some editing from someone other than the translator. — Pekinensis 14:15, 3 August 2005 (UTC)Reply

This is not freeze drying edit

I'm not such at which point they put this in a vacuum chamber? Exposing frozen potatoes to sunlight may be a preservation process that drys something, but it does not involve a vacuum to sublimate the ice. A key concept of freeze drying is the the use of a vacuum to dry something.

This may be freezing and then drying afterwards (they probably do it in a windy place I'd imagine and this sort of approximates the same effect) but I think whoever wrote this has therefore taken a literal translation of the words and not the process called "freeze-drying"

that said I enjoyed this article DarkShroom (talk) 18:13, 7 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

Original name edit

Ch'uñu is described as meaning "frozen" potato. Yet the very next sentence says that the word means "wrinkled" - not frozen. Either one or the other reference is wrong, so should be corrected.Royalcourtier (talk) 03:36, 8 November 2013 (UTC)Reply
