Beach Boys edit

what do we care that much details of a band's cover of the song? This whole detailed section given to a cover is so strange I wonder if there is something about it I do not know. I think we'd better remove and edit this section later, if there is no reasonable response. Downtownee 08:25, 26 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Agreed. I'm removing it. If that information belongs on Wikipedia at all, it should be on another page. 75.73.164.111 15:47, 16 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Putin edit

Anyone know why did Putin choose this particular song to sing out of millions upon millions of choices? What is the significance or signal?... --Diefromevileye (talk) 18:54, 1 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

And since Putin was born around the time this song was released I see no reason why he should be the one to illustrate the song and I suggest at least removing that photo if not replacing it with one showing Fats Domino. This is like illustrating Iliad and Odyssey with a photograph of Homer Simpson. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.137.26.78 (talk) 10:02, 18 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

I came upon your comment almost 2 years after you wrote it. I completely agree. Putin singing this song is certainly interesting but is not worth the "prime real estate" it is getting at this time. [At writing in July 2015, the video is the first thing many will see when going to this page. The image is quite large with a quite-recognizable Vladimir Putin at a microphone.] A link in the "In popular culture" section would be fine. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Wantnot (talkcontribs) 10:23, 30 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

Lyrics? edit

But where was the Blueberry Hill that Stock and Lewis were writing about? Did that Blueberry Hill exist or did they just make up a 3-syllable word to make the song sound smooth? If the hill existed back then, are there any tributes to the song listed on the hill?

Curious. 108.217.190.154 (talk) 17:54, 26 May 2019 (UTC)ESReply

Since both writers are long gone, you'll probably never know. You remind me of when I was writing a song long ago and spent months trying to decide among "strawberry wine", "Beaujolais wine", "any old wine", etc. It might have been like that. (I finally threw out "wine" altogether, by the way, winding up with "My blue Kentucky teardrops are left forever behind", which was a lot better than any old wine line.) –Roy McCoy (talk) 18:40, 26 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

Excessive Versions Tag is Wrong edit

Please remove the excessive versions tag. I mean, who ya gonna drop, Elvis, or Fats Domino?

This is an encyclopaedia. We like detail!

– All entries listed on the Blueberry Hill disambiguation page, except perhaps Blue Berry Hill, Texas, population 866, are based upon the song. — Roman Spinner (talkcontribs) 04:52, 12 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

Lyricist edit

The lead says the lyrics were by one John L. Rooney, but the infobox credits Al Lewis and Larry Stock. Obviously, the infobox is intended to summarise the text, not contradict it; i have no idea which is correct, however; Rooney doesn't have an article and, while Lewis and Stock do, neither of them provides a reference for the claim each makes that he wrote the lyrics (though they do both say the two of them wrote them). Ideas? Happy days ~ LindsayHello 16:26, 2 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

Welp, never mind! Didn't think of vandalism/false editing till too late (AGF and all that!), but taking a look at the history i saw (and have reverted) the change that an IP made some months ago. Happy days ~ LindsayHello 16:30, 2 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
