Commentary on Beach Jumper Boats Video in External Links Section edit

On September 18, unregistered user 81.111.115.3 wisely removed commentary placed next to a link for a video in the External Links section. The commentary said: "(A GREAT Show! Scroll to the bottom and click.)" On September 19 User:Lou Sander replaced the commentary, stating in his edit summary "Commentary is necessary to see the point of the external link." It is obvious that the proclamation of the video as "A GREAT Show!" is completely subjective, and therefore unencyclopedic. What's more, the link is all about beach jumpers, so the video is not the sole "point" of the link; the entire site would be of interest. The video itself is not being used to support any assertions made in the article itself, so an unencyclopedic comment to draw attention to the video is not necessary. Let's remember that Wikipedia is not a collecting place for links on subjects, no matter how interesting they are. Mmyers1976 (talk) 18:03, 19 September 2011 (UTC)Reply
