Na Vynnaf edit

I can't see anything on the band website that suggests the translation given in the current form of the article. Atoms for Peace, as a political idea, is pro nuclear energy, so using a famous anti nuclear phrase in their logo seems relevant to this, possibly to confuse any idea that the band is pro-nuclear power. Therefore I have changed the translation, and referenced where it came from.

Beck??? edit

I don't get it. Does he even play? --69.125.2.186 (talk) 03:02, 4 March 2010 (UTC) Ah it was a mechanics issue, has been corrected. Nvm. --69.125.2.186 (talk) 03:17, 4 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

"Tamer Animals" / "Other Side" edit

There's no such single called "Tamer Animals" / "Other Side". Atoms For Peace released a remix of song "Tamer Animals", originally performed by the band Other Side. So I think it would be appropriate to remove it from "The Singles" section. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bigsoft (talkcontribs) 07:42, 8 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

Another band named "Atoms for Peace" edit

Just wanted to make you aware there was a band with the name "Atoms for Peace" that existed in Gainesville, FL in the middle 1980s. They produced one album (self titled) in 1985 on Ecstasy Records (the disk # is either A.F.P. 222 or NR15987-1). The band members were Chip Folkes (who according to Tom Holtz myspace page died in a motorcycle accident in 2003), tom Holtz, Audrey Silverman and Nancy Goff. Audrey Silverman left the band shortly after the album was released and another bass player was brought in (this is from my memory so that bit of information is not backed up). If you think Wiki needs to put a stub up for this band (or some form of article) then the best source for information would be to contact Tom Holtz. His myspace page is www.myspace.com/tomholtz. I'm only putting this in to let you know the band headed by Thom Yorke was not the only band entitled "Atoms for Peace." (and it is not to be construed that Mr. Yorke did anything wrong. I have no doubt he and his other band members had never even heard of the Gainesville band).72.187.24.69 (talk) 19:50, 2 February 2013 (UTC)WWebbReply

For with a capital 'F' edit

Perhaps as the idea for the band evolved everybody defaulted to the standard lowercase 'f' (Atoms for Peace), with even official releases using lowercase and uppercase interchangeably. Now it seems that the proper rendering has been decided (by the band), and ought to be written as Atoms For Peace. The trouble is that there are so many sources using the lowercase 'f' that it's confusing the issue. Basically, I think the page name should be changed to Atoms For Peace. What say you? Problem references edit

I removed three references from this article for the following reasons:

  • On their website, under their name, is the phrase "Nerth Nuclerek? Na Vynnav", which is in the Cornish language and can be translated as "Nuclear Power? No Thanks".
    • "Cornish Language". Intocornwall.com. Retrieved 2013-02-24.
    • "Atoms for Peace | An Helghyer". Anhelghyer.wordpress.com. September 8, 2012. Retrieved 2013-02-24.
    • PROBLEMS: The first reference translates "na vynnav", but doesn't mention "nerth" or "nuclerek". The second is a blog entry from "An Helghyer", which wouldn't meet Wikipedia's reliable-source requirements. I briefly sought others, but they mostly seemed to be excerpting Wikipedia.
  • This is the text from the Smiling Sun anti nuclear power logo, which has been translated into at least 49 languages, including Cornish.
    • WISE Amsterdam. "WISE - Nuclear issues information service". 0.antenna.nl. Retrieved 2013-02-24.
    • PROBLEM: This oddly-formed link only displays the main webpage of WISE (World Information Service on Energy)'s website, which says nothing about the prior sentence's content (or anything in the entire paragraph). I replaced it with a link to that info from Smiling Sun itself (with updated data), leaving out the "including Cornish" part as I didn't see a list there, let alone a mention of Cornish. (It might yet be somewhere on that website.)

I also fact-tagged missing info to call for new citations. ~ Jeff Q (talk) 00:35, 28 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned references in Atoms for Peace (band) edit

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Atoms for Peace (band)'s orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Reference named "pitch":

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 12:42, 2 May 2015 (UTC)Reply
