Nevertheless, many would argue that performances are a better indication of strength than Elo rating." because they are opinions of the editor, not encyclopedic facts. As to this sentence "In the aftermath, there was some controversy and considerable media interest when Hahn was not subsequently selected for the Olympiad training squad.", the only "considerable media interest" is the post by chessninja.com, which is a blog, so not a reliable source.
