Local papers (San Jose Mercury News, Morgan Hill Times, etc.) have reported during 2014 that Anderson Reservoir will be drained for the seismic retrofit, beginning in the spring or early summer of 2015. Due to the previous lowering of water level to 54% of capacity, boat launching and recovery were marginal, with the water level just a foot or two above the lower end of the paved launch ramp. In early summer 2014 the Santa Clara Valley Water District purchased water from San Luis Reservoir, brought in via the Pacheco Tunnel and the Pacheco Conduit, the latter a large, 120-inch diameter concrete pipeline that was constructed in the late 1960s and early 1970s. With the temporary increase of water level to 68% of capacity, the lake is usable for boating at least through the summer and fall of 2014, but when work commences in 2015, the lake will not be available for boating for several years. — QuicksilverT@ 19:45, 12 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

I requested an article move from "Anderson Reservoir" to "Anderson Lake (California)" on 2014-09-13 in accordance with the proper GNIS name of this feature. The "Anderson Reservoir" name is an informal alternative, not the prime name. I'm in the process of cleaning up redirects and links in other articles, to the extent that I'm not being thwarted in that task by persons who have little or no understanding of the way this wiki works. — QuicksilverT@ 04:22, 15 September 2014 (UTC)Reply
