title edit

Should the definite article at the start of the page title be suppressed, and the page renamed "Analyse des Infiniment Petits pour l'Intelligence des Lignes Courbes"? Tkuvho (talk) 21:02, 21 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

While the page title should not use the definite article, there is some question about what the title itself is. The second edition (the one available online) of 1716 does not use the definite article at all (and spells the author's name as l'Hospital, with an "s"). On the other hand, it has been reported at French wiki that the first edition did use the definite article. I wonder what the appropriate convention would be to name a book in this case. Afaik the spelling of the name with s is correct, the current spelling without s is due to French spelling reform that happened in between.--Kmhkmh (talk) 15:57, 22 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
