"Evil I"

It doesn't seem that "Evil I" was a nickname of the ship when Vraciu would have served with the 6th, since kamikaze strikes occurred after the 6th had departed post-Truk and the 18th had taken their place. I can find many references to "Dry I" for its time in dry dock as a result of its initial scrape with Panamanian cliffs and the torpedo it took to the rudder, but "Evil I" seems like a post-1944 nickname. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Finktron (talk • contribs) 04:14, 29 January 2016 (UTC)

After Vraciu landed, the ordnancemen on Lexington discovered that he had used only 360 rounds of ammunition. (On average, each of the six kills followed a burst lasting less than five seconds.)[14]

Then Vraciu should have fired NOT 5 second per engagement, but 360:6 = 60/12.5 rd/s: 6 guns = less than 1 second per kill!!! I wonder if this is a plain HOAX. Even McDonald, when shot down (or so he declared) 9 aircraft (that were only fighters) he used totally except 2-6 rds the over 2,000 rds available! Atleast, if we could believe this, he used 250 rds for each shooting.
