61 HOURS - plot flaw

I an an avid Lee Child / Jack Reacher reader. In 61 Hours I expecially enjoyed the tension simply engendered by the time-line clock counting-dowm. Regrettably, in 61 Hours, quite apart from the incredible escape against impossible odds, I cannot resist pointing out that it is physically impossible to use a lift-pump to 'suck up' water more than about 25 feet [say 8 metres] !! But of course, oil does float on water ... JDM 203.129.57.251 (talk) 06:48, 13 November 2011 (UTC)
