Scope too narrow
The scope of this article is too narrow. These incidents are largely unlike the Turkish border clashes in that they are the result of fighting on the Syrian side of the border spilling over into the Israeli-occupied Golan, spooking troops there into firing back. There is intense fighting between gov't troops and rebels in the DMZ, and there is speculation from Israeli military sources that this is a deliberate move to force the army into operating in buffer territory, where their ability to fight is legally impaired [1]. At the very least, the opposition should be added in a third column, but I personally would advocate for moving this article to 2012 Golan Heights clashes or something similar, as this is more than passive back-and-forth shelling between the army and Israel. ~~ Lothar von Richthofen (talk) 08:54, 14 November 2012 (UTC)
- Since no defence has been offered in nearly two weeks, I have moved the article. Nevertheless, it still needs much more information on the actual clashes occurring on the Syrian side. ~~ Lothar von Richthofen (talk) 06:22, 27 November 2012 (UTC)
- I think that the most suitable name would be "2012 Quneitra Governorate clashes". Considering the scope of this article as a broad fighting between rebels and government - the Syrians largely relate to Quneitra governorate, rather than Golan Heights to the area.Greyshark09 (talk) 17:08, 8 January 2013 (UTC)
Casualties
The report about Israeli soldiers that were injured are mistakes. Syrian indeed hit Israeli military vehicle but the vehicle is armored and simple bullets can't injure the soldiers inside(But they can damage the vehicle itself). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.95.59.234 (talk) 18:28, 3 December 2012 (UTC)
Rename
This article should be renamed to 2012–2013 Golan Heights clashes or 2012–present Golan Heights clashes because it is still ongoing. --93.139.202.28 (talk) 09:41, 27 January 2013 (UTC)
