How can Germany make rules about this? edit

If the .ag domain belongs to Antigua and Barbuda, how can Germany make rules about its proper use?--Oz1cz 07:44, 20 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

  • Intellectual property law trumps everything when it comes to domain names... See the case of Mike Row Vs. Microsoft... Basically it was a case where someone by the name of Mike Row was sued for the domain name http://www.mikerowsoft.com/ They thought it was funny because their name was close to M$ and they just added Soft to the end... But as it turned out Microsoft sicked a pack of lawyers on the man and in the end decided to settle out of court but if a company deems you registered any domain in bad faith they can come and sue you... Blame ICANN... CaribDigita (talk) 06:15, 26 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

99.243.4.228 (talk) 19:01, 14 February 2012 (UTC) It's relevant that .AG despite being the ccTLD for Antigua, is also marketed towards germany companies as they use the term 'AG'. This doesn't mean the german gov't gets a say in how .AG Registry is run however. Not sure what german courts can do about a german company buying a .ag domain as the registry itself is located in a different country. Is this article really relevant?Reply
