Suzanne Fortier
Suzanne Fortier is a Professor of Chemistry at Queen's University. She is also cross-appointed to the Queen's School of Computing, and is currently the Vice-Principal (Research). On March 5, 2013, McGill's Board of Governors announced their selection of Dr. Fortier as McGill’s 17th Principal and Vice-Chancellor. She is expected to assume her new responsibilities in early September 2013.[1]
Since January 16 2006, she is the President of the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC), a Canadian government division that provides grants for research in the natural sciences and in engineering.[2]
She received her B.Sc. and Ph.D. from McGill University. Her research interests are in the field of protein crystallography.
