Manuchehr I was eleventh independent Shah of Shirvan.[1] He is considered to be first fully Persianized ruler of the dynasty, rejecting Arab roots and regarding himself as descendant of Sassanids.
Reign
He continued to fight against Derbent rulers. His reign saw invasion by Ingvar the Far-Travelled and struggles against Vikings and Rus'. He defeated the combined forces of the Alans and the Rus' in 1033.
