Shigella sonnei is a species of Shigella.[1] Together with Shigella flexneri, it is responsible for 90% of shigellosis.[2]Shigella sonnei is named for the Danish bacteriologist Carl Olaf Sonne.[3][4]
Pathophysiology
Polymerizes host cell actin.
Treatment
Antibiotic resistance has been reported.[5]
