The Dr. Azodi Stadium is a multipurpose stadium in Rasht, Iran. It is currently used mostly for football matches and was the home stadium of Damash Gilan F.C.. The stadium holds 11,000 people.
As of 2011, the stadium is undergoing renovation. Synthetic grass will be planted in the stadium that will be of FIFA standard. In the spectators' area seats will be installed. A conference room will be built with communication facilities. An electronic scoreboard will also be installed.[1]
Naming
The stadium is named after Dr. Hassan Azodi who was killed on June 28, 1982, in an explosion at the central office of the Islamic Republic Party.[2]
