Pilar Homem de Melo
Pilar Homem de Melo (born July 5, 1963 in Lisbon) is a Dream pop Portuguese singer-songwriter.
- 1975 – 1981 - Lives in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil where starts to compose.
- 1982 – 1985 – Studies in Berklee College of Music, Boston, U.S.A. 2 concerts in Berklee's Auditorium.
- 1988 – Signs contract with EMI Portugal.
- 1989 – 1st Album "Pilar" produced by Wayne Shorter.
- 1989 – 1990 – Tour in Portugal.
- 1991 – 1st part of Suzanne Vega's concert in Oporto and Lisbon's coliseums.
- 1993 – 2nd Album "Pecado Original" recorded in Marcus Studio, London and produced by Steve Davis with the participation of Vicente Amigo.
- 1993 – 1995 – Tour in Portugal including Azores and Madeira Islands. Concert for Amnesty International in Lisbon. Concert in Fundação Serralves, Oporto.
- 1995 – 1999 – Lives in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
- 2000 – Signs contract with Zona Música.
- Concert "SM58" with Anamar and Né Ladeiras.
- 2001 – 3rd Album "Não quero saber" produced by Armando Teixeira - arranged by Armando Teixeira and Augusto Sanches including a Femme Fatale's version (Lou Reed).
- Concert in Aula Magna, Lisbon.
- 2002 – Release of the live album "Ao vivo - Anamar, Né Ladeiras, Pilar".
- 2003 – 4th Album "Põe 1 bocadinho + alto" Produced by Pilar with Alexandre Cortês, Filipe Valentim, Mocho, Mourah, Tjak, João Roquette and Augusto Sanches.
- Concerts in Lisbon and Oporto.
- 2005 – Concert in Teatro Municipal São Luiz, Lisbon. Special guest: Thio Mbaye.
- 2006 – Concert in Casino du Cap Vert, Dakar, Senegal.
- 2011 – She moved to Spain.
