Noon clan

Noon (Punjabi: نون) is a Punjabi tribe in Pakistan variously ascribed as Rajput. Members of Noon clan use Rana, Malik and Chaudhry as their titles.

History and origin

The origin of Noons is a bit controversial, as some them as descendants of the Tiwana Rajput clan,. The Noons claim to be closely related to the Tiwana Muslim Rajput[1] tribe from Mitha Tiwana, and are largely settled in the Sargodha and Multan areas of Pakistani Punjab. In addition to the Tiwanas, they are closely allied to the Awan, Bandial and Piracha tribes in Pakistan. By profession, most of the Noons are rural agriculturists.
