Nicholas William Bailey
Nicholas William Bailey (born December 21, 1980) is an American composer and songwriter from New Bern, North Carolina. Bailey has composed for a variety of cable television networks including TLC, A&E, Animal Planet, The National Geographic Channel, E! Entertainment, CMT, OWN TV, Travel Channel, Speed, MSNBC, SyFy, Tru TV, Discovery and VH1.[1] Bailey is also a member of the rock band "Nick and the Babes."
Career
Upon graduating from East Carolina University in 2003 Bailey spent four years as a piano bar musician. In 2008 Bailey was given the opportunity to compose for TLC's "18 Kids and Counting" by fellow North Carolina composer Scott Pearson.[2] Bailey landed several music cues into the TLC series. This initial break led to other composing jobs including series such as "Crime 360," "The Last American Cowboy," "Known Universe," "Lock Up," "Pit Bulls and Parolees," "What's Eating You," "Chicago Trauma," "My Deadly Appetite," "Searching For," "Make Me Superhuman," "Duke Children's Hospital Promo," "Three Ships Media-Tuff Mudder Corporate Video," "Richard Petty/Duke Hospital Promo" "Car Warriors," "Police POV," "Fact or Faked," "Shark Shoot: Fiji," "Intel/Lenovo," "Legend Quest," "Industries for the Blind," "Breaking Down the Bars," "In The Bedroom with Dr. Laura Berman," "Abby & Brittany," "Swanderosa," "Chainsaw Gangs," "My Cat From Hell,"and "Dad Camp." To date Bailey has composed for over 20 cable television programs.
Bailey has also contributed music to Intel, a national Dale Earnhardt commercial, Newsweek.com's acclaimed webseries "The District" and the recently defunct virtual world for children "Zookazoo."[3]
Bailey along with other members of "Nick and the Babes" have worked as session musicians for Bob Crawford (The Avett Brothers) and appeared on Ramseur Records' 2011 release "My Favorite Gifts" Christmas album.[4] "Nick and the Babes" often referred to as NATB is an Americana/Indie Rock band based out of Raleigh, North Carolina.[5]
