Mingjian (Chinese: 名間; pinyin: míngjiān; Wade–Giles: Ming-chien; Pe̍h-ōe-jī: Bêng-kan) is a rural township located in the west central part of Nantou County in Taiwan. Its name originates from a Japanese transliteration of the Taiwanese word, Lama (Chinese: 湳仔; pinyin: nǎnzǎi; Pe̍h-ōe-jī: Lâm-á), meaning a very wet place.[1]
