Lois Maikel Martínez González (born 3 June 1981 in Havana) is a male discus thrower from Cuba. In 2015, he changed his allegiance to Spain.[1] His personal best throw is 67.45 metres, achieved in July 2005 in Havana.[3]

Career edit

He finished sixth at the 2002 World Junior Championships. He also competed at the 2003 World Championships and the 2004 Olympic Games without qualifying for the final round.[3] On the regional level he won the bronze medal at the 2003 Pan American Games[4] and the silver medal at the 2005 Central American and Caribbean Championships.[5] He became Cuban champion in 2002 and 2006, having a rivalry with Alexis Elizalde and Frank Casañas.[6]
