Logan City Cobras Australian Rules Football Club (nicknamed The Cobras) is a Gold Coast based club competing in the SEQAFL Div 3 Australian rules football competition.
In the beginning
Founded as the Woodridge Woodpeckers in 1973 the club relocated in 1976 to Slacks Creek and became the Slacks Creek Cobra's. On the move again in 1978, this time to the Beenleigh Showgrounds the club became the Beenleigh Cobra's.
The club was winners of third division senior premiership (1978) in the South Queensland Amateur Football Association earning a promotion to second division.
In 1980 they won their first second division senior premiership follow by a reserve grade premiership in 1981.
1985
The club won their second, second division senior premiership, and along the way they kicked a club record of 47.23.305 to Capalaba 2.0.12, Bernie Cleary kicked an association record of 24 goals in a game.[1]
Change of Leagues
The club changed league, moving to the Gold Coast AFL Competition for five years, (1986–1990).
A lack of success the club return to the Brisbane AFL in 1991 with their current name, Logan City Cobras. The club finished on top of the second division ladder but crashed out of the finals. They won the Second Division Reserve Grade Premiership in 1993.
In 1998 the club moved to its present location at Tansey Park, Tanah Merah.
Recently
2006 - Seniors and Reserves play off in grand final, both teams finish runners-up for the season in AFLQ State Association Division 2.
2011 - Seniors make the Grand Final for the first time since 2006 in Division 2. They finish Minor Premiers, only to be defeated by Nambour & Hinterland
2012 - AFL Queensland State Association Division 2 renamed to the South East Queensland Australian Football League (SEQAFL) Division 3.
