No airfield has so far been constructed on the islands of Saint Helena or Tristan da Cunha, which are many hundreds of miles from Ascension Island.

• Saint Helena Airport, on Saint Helena island, is scheduled to be open in 2015 at the earliest. It will have a runway of 1,850 metres (6,070 ft) and will be a civilian airport.
