      Edward Wormold was the owner of several properties on Coronation Street up until the late 70s. As such, he made occasional visits when needed. Gradually all the houses were bought by the residents of the Street, and Wormold last appeared in September. His brother Alfried appeared in 1967 and son Douglas appeared in 1974.

      Norman Lindley was the estranged husband of shopkeeper Florrie Lindley. His arrival shocked Florrie's friends and neighbours, who had believed she was widowed. Norman worked overseas as an engineer and had returned to the country to ask Florrie for a divorce. Whilst in the area he took a fancy to Elsie Tanner and they dated, but when Florrie confessed she still had feelings for Norman, Elsie gallantly broke it off. Florrie had her hopes of rekindling the romance dashed however, when Norman was called back to work and abruptly left. The couple finally decided to give their marriage another go when Norman came back for Florrie later in the year, and they left for a new start together.

      Roger Wain is a friend of Lucille Hewitt's, who she meets when the play opposite each other in a local production. Lucille instantly takes a shine to Roger and takes him home to meet her guardians Annie and Jack, who approve of the developing relationship between the pair. Eventually however, class differences prove too much for Roger and Lucille, and they drift apart.

      Lionel Petty arrived on Coronation Street as the new owner of the Corner Shop, which he previously bought from Florrie Lindley. He was an ex-Sergeant Major, and life as a shopkeeper was never his game. Lionel failed to fit in on the Street and left for Wales in January 1966 to go into business with his brother.

      Tom Schofield was the nephew of Ena Sharples. Tom lived in Boston and had come to persuade his aunt to get a passport so she could fly over to visit her brother, Tom Sr, whom she had not seen for fifty years. Ena left with Tom soon after.

      Arthur Walker was the brother of Jack Walker who often ran the Rovers while Jack and his wife Annie were indisposed. He made his last appearance in 1969, visiting Jack in hospital after he was injured in the coach crash.

      Clara Midgeley was the caretaker employed at the Mission in the absence of regular employee Ena Sharples. During her stay on the Street she made good friends with Albert Tatlock and the pair holidayed together in Cleveleys, with Albert unaware that Clara had previously disclosed to Minnie Caldwell that she was in fact falling in love with him. On the trip Clara decided to pop the question to Albert, but was disappointed when he turned her down, reasoning that he was far too set in his ways to ever marry again. Following this, Albert cut the holiday short to return home and Clara, devastated, was never seen again.

      Nellie Harvey appeared intermittently from 1965 to 1976. She and her husband Arthur were landlord and lady of The Laughing Donkey, another local pub in Weatherfield. Nellie was a member of the Weatherfield Ladies Licensed Victualers. She was a lifelong 'friend' of Annie Walker but in reality they were always trying to score points off each other.

      Ted Bates was an old friend of Albert Tatlock's who moved into No.1 to escape the old folks' home his daughter had packed him off to. Albert and Ted fought for his rights to stay, but his daughter got the authorities involved and a defeated Ted returned to the home.

      Robert "Bob" Maxwell was a solicitor whom Elsie Tanner met in the Fox and Hound pub during a desperate attempt to find love outside of Coronation Street. After a night of flirting, Bob drove Elsie home, and on the way they stopped in a lay-by where he told her how unhappy he was in his marriage. Once they drove off, Bob suffered a fatal heart attack and crashed the car. Panicked, Elsie fled the scene but the police tracked her down soon enough and she was forced to give evidence.

      Moira Maxwell was the wife of Bob Maxwell, who died while taking Elsie Tanner home. Moira attacked Elsie at the Coroner's Court hearing, accusing her of luring her husband away.

      Jim Mount was an Irish engineer who briefly flirted with Elsie Tanner before moving into No.13 with the Ogdens. He was overjoyed when his old girlfriend Brenda Riley was installed as manageress at the Rovers in the temporary absence of the Walkers, but she refused to resume their relationship and went out with Len Fairclough instead. Brenda and Jim eventually left Weatherfield together after the Walkers returned to find the Rovers in disarray.

      Frank Turner was a customer of the Rovers who blackmailed Jack Walker when he found underage Lucille Hewitt managing the bar in his absence. Frank demanded money for his silence and the strain caused Jack to collapse. When the regulars discovered what was doing on they decided on teaching Frank a lesson. He was beaten up in the alleyway behind the Rovers and Stan Ogden was celebrated for his handiwork, only for them all to learn it was in fact Jerry Booth who had done the deed.
