      Kowthalam is a village and a Mandal in Kurnool district in the state of Andhra Pradesh in India.[1]

      Kowthalam is one of the religious historical place. Here we can see the Mantralaya's Mahaprabhugalu Shri Raghavendra swamy temple. Here we can see the Raghavendra Swamy's Shilabrindavana which is from the period of shree Gurujagannthadasa. Now this temple has become a great temple.       kowthalam has a famous lord venkateswara swamy temple and it has been 400 years ago temple and it has been developed recently by srinivasa seva samithi and it contains the members K.MARUTHI MOHAN, B.RAGHAVENDHRA REDDY.

      Kowthalam is developing mandalam, kowthalam have been mis the chance to become thaluka(niyojikavargam) due to some political reasons.

      Kowthalam mandalam has one govt. high school 6th to 10th and this is has one Govt. Jr. College, it was built in 2002.

      In kowthalam there are number of private schools are developing. The one of the famous private school is Prathibha public school, it provides bus to the students for transport purpose.
