Koratagere is located 27.6 km distance from its District Main City Tumkur . Demographics

As of 2001 India census,[2] Koratagere had a population of 13,638. Males constitute 51% of the population and females 49%. Koratagere has an average literacy rate of 71%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 77%, and female literacy is 65%. In Koratagere, 11% of the population is under 6 years of age.

Jeevamandala is a Cader-based environmental organisation, based in Thovinakere-572138 [Surenahalli Road, Beladingala beedi] Koratagere taluk, Tumkur Dist., Publishing a Monthly Magazine Idu Jeevanadala on Ecology, Environment, Forestry, Wild life & Science.

Janara Mane is a socio-environmental study centre…. Planned and designed to eke a space to debates, seminars and workshops of Jeeva Mandala. We[who?] won’t limit this space to have only the organization’s activities. Janara Mane will also include cultural and environmental issues of Karnataka and specifically Tumkur district by providing a platform to the people in the larger interest. Any organization, individuals and philanthropists who are interested in developmental issues, environmental and ideological debate to bridge rural-urban divide can share the study center’s space to road their goal. Janara Mane can accommodate 30-40 individuals. A full fledged kitchen, dormitory, seminar hall, discussion space will be the features of the center. A 16-squared centre is designed in the locally available resources with a typical indigenous structure. This center is under construction. Basic principle of this construction is PEOPLE PARTICIPATION, “For the People-From the People”. We[who?] welcome contributions from individuals, organizations and philanthropists.

Mobile Green Schools

Jeeva Mandala’s core activities are a day-long, week-long environmental Teaching and Training programme in schools and colleges as well as Villages in the Evening With impressive audio visual programmes, along with trained narrator.

Jeeva Sanchara- repertory

A group of 20 local youths will be identified and trained. These trained artists will start a journey to all the villages of Tumkur district. Street plays, demonstrations and songs are the medium of environmental awareness and education. A three months cultural caravan in a year is a regular feature of the Jeeva Mandala. We also move to other selected parts of Karnataka. Plays, songs and satires written to address the local, national and international environmental issues/politics will be selected and demonstrated in the caravan.

“Allama” Center for Higher Studies in Environment & Training is a well equipped environmental training center built in locally available resources with indigenous structure. “Allama” featured as world class residential training center. This will include a seminar hall with modern audio-visual equipments which can accommodate 100 people, rooms and dormitories to accommodate 100 people. Center will be used to sensitize team members of the organization and people from different walks of life about environmental issues. Present scenario of environmental issues, agriculture, natural resources and other related issues of importance will be the central theme of the training. Teachers, bureaucrats, political party members, development organizations and people from different walks of life will be trained here. Based on the necessity and demand a day’s training, two days, three days and a week long training programme will be conducted. Any other organizations which think in these lines can get a space in the center to conduct their programmes.

Bio-Diversity Park

We[who?] commit to conserve the endangered plant species and to preserve the representational species of the southern and central region of Karnataka (Bayalu seeme) is the core idea of developing Bio-diversity Park. Park will include medicinal plant species, and all the varieties of plants. It will be an open botanical research lab. Information, education and entertainment are also the idea of the park. A minimum of 50 hectares land will be identified and developed as bio-park. Jeeva Mandala will be committed to holistic approach in conservation of natural resources, proper use, and equal distribution of these resources. Central theme is to achieve social-equality. Achieving social equality by people participation is our concern. Every on who supports Jeeva Mandala is a friend of Jeeva mandala. You know this movement involves huge resources. Support the way you can. Be a friend of Jeeva mandala. Do not think of supporting tomorrow. Be a first person to think of supporting today itself. Let us[who?] join hands to bring in considerable change in the society we live in.

Sumpoorna Basketball School

Betta Shambhunahalli, Kuramkote Post, Koratagere Taluk This school trains children in learning basketball basics. Residential camps `free of cost' to rural children are organised. Help is also provided in building basketball courts on `no profit' basis.
