KSGH Music and Performing Arts University (Full name as Karnataka State Gangubhai Hangal Music and Performing Arts University[1]) which is also called as Karnataka State Music University is a new Public university exclusively dedicated to the study and research of Music and Performing Arts which is established by the Government of Karnataka.Presently it is functioning from a heritage building (its temporary campus) in Lakshmipuram area of Mysore.[2][3]
The University was Founded on February 14, 2008 and formally established by the State Government of Karnataka through an Act called Karnataka State Dr Gangubai Hangal Music and Performing Arts University Act, 2009 [4] which is duly passed in State Legislature. It presently offers undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral courses.
