John Rea (born 5 December 1951) is a retired Scottish snooker player.
The highlight of Rea's career came in the 1989 Scottish Professional Championships when he beat Murdo MacLeod to become the Scottish champion.[1][2]
On 18 February 1989, he scored a maximum break in a match against Ian Black in the Scottish Professional Championship,[3][4] becoming the first Scot ever to achieve this feat.
He now owns the Lucky Break snooker club in Clydebank through which he has sponsored local football teams. At the snooker club he regularly has guests down to play up and coming stars - famous face's have included John Higgins and Stephen Maguire.
As well as this, John also took on Jimmy White and six time World Champion, Steve Davis, at the Playdrome in Clydebank in an exhibition night of snooker.
