The 13th congressional district of Illinois is represented by Republican Rodney L. Davis.
The district from 2003 to 2013
2011 redistricting
The congressional district covers parts of Bond, Champaign, Madison, McLean and Sangamon counties, and all of Christian, Calhoun, De Witt, Greene, Jersey, Macon, Macoupin, Montgomery and Piatt counties, as of the 2011 redistricting which followed the 2010 census. All or parts of Decatur, Godfrey, Taylorville and Urbana are included.[2] The representatives for these districts were elected in the 2012 primary and general elections, and the boundaries became effective on January 5, 2013.
Voting
In the 2004 U.S. General Election, this district voted for George W. Bush with 55% to 45% for John Kerry. However, in 2008, the district flipped and voted for Barack Obama, like other suburban Chicago districts. The area has been continuously represented by a Republican congressman since 1895.
