Professor H A De S Gunasekara was the first Sri Lankan Professor of Economics at University of Peradeniya Sri Lanka.
He was educated at Nalanda College Colombo. Prof. Gunasekara was also former Secretary to the Ministry of Planning & Economic Affairs in Sri Lanka.
