Plot

When Mac and Dennis arrive at Paddy's, Dee and Charlie reveal that their safe has been stolen. Mac recommends buying a gun.

Dennis tells the detective that there's been string of bar robberies in the area, but he doesn’t seem to be interested. Mac again brings up the idea to buy a gun, which Dennis supports. Dee and Charlie are against the idea because of the potential for an accident. As they are discussing this, Dee’s new boyfriend, Colin (Michael Rosenbaum) arrives. Mac and Dennis don’t like him. Charlie reveals that Colin has dated every bartender in the area.

At home, Charlie receives a visit from his landlord, Hwang, demanding he pays the $854 in due rent money. Hwang demands that Charlie pay him the money in one days time.

After purchasing the gun, Mac and Dennis store it behind the counter. They quickly reneg, and head to the basement of the bar. Charlie sees them shooting the gun. They insist he hold the gun. He is taken with the feeling of power the gun gives him. Meanwhile, Dee's new boyfriend Colin reveals himself to be a gun enthusiast. They go on a date to a shooting range where Colin is 'turned on' by her firing the pistol.

Mac and Dennis decide to become 'vigilantes' The two discover that the gun is missing. They come to the conclusion that Charlie took the gun. Hwang returns to get the rent and Charlie reveals the gun in the front waistband of his pants. Charlie intimidates his landlord and implies that he has the means to get anything done.

Mac and Dennis prepare to do some sleuthing by putting together their own detective kit. As Mac is ready to head out and do some crime solving, Dennis deduces that Colin is the thief. They rush over to Charlie’s place to retrieve the gun, and then track down Colin who is at a club kissing another girl.

They realized that that this club was already robbed, so Mac plans to have Colin rob their bar again. Mac and Dennis tell him that even though the thief stole the safe, he didn’t get all of their money. They reveal to Colin that the rest of the money is stored in the register. After Colin drives off, Dennis calls Dee and tells her to meet him and Mac at the pub.

In the pub, they shut off the circuit breaker as all three of them wait for the thief to return to the scene of the crime. A hooded individual enters the bar and goes for the register. Dennis tells Mac to cue the flashlight. The intruder attempts to escape. The three begin to panic and don’t know what to do. Dee and Mac yell at Dennis to shoot the assailant, which he does. The three realize that it's Charlie. Dennis drives Charlie to the hospital.

They are finally able to see Charlie who revealed that he stole the money to pay the rent and was trying to capitalize on the other robberies so that they could collect money from the insurance company. The four friends wholeheartedly agree to get rid of the gun. Dee later receives a call from Colin, who while talking to her is stealing money from the gang’s register.
